Established by Yogacharya BKS Iyengar from Pune, India, ‘Iyengar’ is the world’s most practised method of Yoga with students in over 40 countries worldwide.

Yoga teaches us to balance the body, mind and spirit through a systematically taught series of asanas (postures) and Pranayama (breath control). Its regular practice brings flexibility and strength to the body, increased concentration and mental calm to the mind and an overall feeling of self-confidence.

The Iyengar method of teaching focuses on correct alignment and precision in the asana, making it safer for beginners or those with a lot of stiffness. It also uses props, where necessary, to allow students of all abilities to experience the postures correctly and progress safely and in their own time.
